Regardless of whether Paul is singing songs from operas, songs from films or musicals, or popular songs (as on this video), I love his voice, his care for his fans, and his generosity to charity; I'm glad he won this competition three years ago; and I'm thrilled that his third album is coming out soon. I'll buy it and continue to be at every concert of his that I can get to.

Dit is ongelofelijk, wat een voorrecht om hier naar te mogen luisteren, ongekend.

@goldenthroat86 Can you show us some video's of you singing then, shouldn't be hard to come by if you have been doing it for aslong as you have. Its hard to forget considering you have bragged about it numerous times already. If you prove that you are this amazing professional Opera singer then fair enough you are living your dream, otherwise, can you just shut the hell up because no one likes the arrogance your presenting with your comments.

@monsoonseasonaugust You're right! It's not the "be all and end all being a pro opera singer." You missed my point entirely. It's a simple matter of semantics. If you allow your management to market you as an "International opera star", and you haven't sung a single opera professionally, you open yourself up to ridicule.
Paul sings concerts, not operas. There's a BIG difference. One isn't better than the other. They're just apples and oranges.

@meeragrantham No... They are by definition singing opera ARIAS in a CONCERT, not opera itself. An opera ARIA is a song of a few minutes length taken out of context from a 3--5 hour piece of music...namely opera. Paul sings Nessun dorma, but he doesn't sing the ROLE of Calaf in Puccini's Turandot. Paul sings concerts. An opera is a staged play with costumes, makeup, props, etc. See the difference?

goldenthroat Glad you are living your dream, many people who never had your good fortune to study in an opera school through what ever reason did not besides having enough talent.
Paul has an amazing instrument, did go and see him just last year, but it is not the be all and end all being a pro. opera singer. The person that works down the pit a life time, the good school teacher, the soldier who fights for his country to protect its citizens, these are the ones who I applaud.

Paul did not spend his life and fortune training, you talk rubbish.
Paul did not take up singing amatuer till 1999, and he did not have a proper training in opera or ever went out to have one.
You post because you have spent life and fortune training to be an opera singer, and you are not loved and famous like Paul.
Also, when a person is singing Nessun Dorma, arias from la boheme and many others, they are by definition singing opera.
Don't post much now, but still Paul fan |
